My name is Eliana Swena and I’m a violinist currently living in the Spokane Washington area. My love, appreciation, and enthusiasm for music was inspired at a young age and has continued to grow over the years.

I just finished my 15th year in training. My first and primary instrument has always been violin, however over the years I added piano, viola, guitar, and some vocal training along the way. I started with and finished the Suzuki repertoire. As a student in the Walla Walla Valley I was privileged with many performance opportunities, orchestras, chamber music, and music summer camps. I love and am fascinated by music performance, history, theory, psychology, and pedagogy.

More recently I have found fulfillment with playing for local churches, leading out in music events, teaching violin, and seeing my students develop their voice musically.

I truly believe that music is a universal language and speaks to and conveys the inner world of each person individually. I find it fulfilling and it is my goal to help each student to find and develop that language.

As the school year has started I found myself desiring to use and develop myself more in teaching music. These desires combined with my prayer for a mission opportunity has lead me to accepting a position teaching violin at Peace Music Academy in Thailand. I look forward to using my skills to connect with and help youth develop themselves musically. I hope and pray that I can reach those around me through music and show them the connection and love of God through music!
